He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Elrod and Eula Mae Davis Elrod. He is survived by: his daughters, Debra Vaughters (Gary), Terica Barrett (Rick) and Michelle Looney (Ken); and his close friend BoBo. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the memorials may be made to the Tyrus Baptist Church.
