She was predeceased by: her parents, John Patton and Ruby Patton; her son James Arthur "Art" Alford, III; and her husband James Arthur "Jimmy" Alford, Jr.. She is survived by: her daughter Theresa Alford; her brother Wendell; and her sister-in-law Donna Patton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation in memory of Carolyn Patton Alford.
