He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmie Gordon and Veola Upshaw; and his sister Genie Mae Harold. He is survived by: his wife Ruby Upshaw; his children, Antwonescus Upshaw of Wiley Upshaw, JR, Martez Upshaw (Brittany), Karisha Anthony and Abrel Briana Bell; his siblings, Willie C. Upshaw (Janice), Freddie Upshaw (Judy), Viola Davis and Irene Peterson; and his sisters-in-law, Rebecca Pitts (Clarence), Dorothy Devose and Patricia Jackson (Ron). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
