She was predeceased by: her parents, George, Sr. Nelson and Pearl Carson Nelson; her husband Herbert L. Alexander; and her siblings, George Nelson, Jr., Essie Thomas, Willie Ferrell and Barbara Thomas.
She is survived by: her siblings, James Nelson (Elsie), Odessa Evans, Rosa Edmond (Margie Jones) and Elizabeth Nelson (Hagan J. Thomas); her niece Brenda Daniel; and her close friends, Clayton Wright and Barbara Lias. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
