He is survived by: his wife Johnnie Lipp; his daughters, Kimberly Shipley Thomas (Justin) of Columbus, GA and Erin Trowell (Joshua) of Columbus, GA; his granddaughter Eleanor Trowell of Columbus, GA; and his siblings, Thomas "Tom" Shipley and Charlotte Miller. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
