It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Ellis Wood of Columbus, Georgia, born in Fargo, North Dakota, who passed away on March 8, 2024, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Theo H. Ellis, Sr. and Evelyn Ellis Darsey. She is survived by: her daughter Carley Wood Thigpen; her grandchildren, Evelyn Gray Thigpen, John Maddox Thigpen and Rosemary Katherine Thigpen; and her siblings, Linda Clegg, Kathy Frost (Arthur) and Theo H. "Ted" Ellis, Jr. (Judy). She is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.
