He was predeceased by: his son Joseph Carlton Posey Jr.; and his brother Theo Ennis Jr.. He is survived by: his brother James Edward Posey; his wife Evelyn R. Posey of Columbus; and his son John Edward Posey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and his many life- long friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make contributions to the charity of your choice or to the First Baptist Church Food Closet.
