He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Mathis and Dorothy Jones Hamilton. He is survived by: his wife Carrie Ann Hamilton; his children, George E. Hamilton (Sonya), Pamela Harris and Breann Hamilton-Tyson (Steve); and his siblings, Eddie F. Hamilton, Robert Lee Hamilton, Annie Hamilton Pittman and Mary Hamilton Jennings (Robert). He is also survived by Five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
