It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Jeanette Cauthen of Columbus, Georgia, born in Ashburn, Georgia, who passed away on June 1, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father James Allen Coleman, Sr.; her husband Jordan Seaton Cauthen; her son-in-law Bill Thompson; her grandson Jarrod Lane Cauthen; and her siblings, Roy, Joseph, Cornal, Howell, Carl, Allen, Travis, Nola May, Willie Aline, Mildred, Betty and Helen Earline.

She is survived by: her mother Lilly Carter Coleman of Missouri; her children, Baptist, Kathy Barfoot (Sandy) of Pfafftown, Paula Thompson of Columbus, Georgia. and Warren Cauthen (Syrie) of Columbus, Georgia.; her sister Edna Earline Smith of Arizona; her grandchildren, Will Thompson (Brooke), Dianne Olmos (Pete), Lisa Ames (Zach), Scott Barfoot (Sonja), Rebekah Brown (Derek), Curtis Cauthen and Landon Cauthen; her great grandchildren, Savannah, Carolina, Levi, Lilyanne, Charlotte, Rachel, Mason, Taylor, Jordan, Morgan, Abram and William; and also Lilly of Missouri. She is also survived by her grandsons and granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Red Cross West Central Georgia Chapter, 6501 Veterans Pkwy #3B, Columbus, Georgia 31909 or to The First Baptist Church of Columbus nursery renovations and upgrades.
