He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Lee Simmons, Sr. and Susie Loreta Lawton Simmons; and his siblings, Joseph Simmons, Jr., Mildred Simmons and Paul Simmons.
He is survived by : his wife Ora Lee Simmons; and his children, Brad Simmons, Courtney Lamar (Anthony) and Chandra Watkins. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
