He was predeceased by: his parents, Janice Elizabeth Colbert and James Strickland; and his brothers, David Strickland and Timothy Strickland. He is survived by: his wife Shirley G. Strickland of Columbus, GA; his children, Lisa Lyda of Columbus, GA, David Tharp (Emi) of Nashville, TN and Wayne Smith (Lisa) of Columbus, GA; and his grandchildren, Zachary Lyda, Elizabeth Lyda, Dillon Smith and Garrett Tharp.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Second Baptist Church in Columbus, GA 31904.
