Billy Gene Mathis Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Billy Gene Mathis of Columbus, Georgia, who passed away on February 23, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Mathis and Lossie Whitehead Mathis Coates; his significant other Lucia Kite Mathis; and his son Donald "Donnie" Mathis. He is survived by: his children, Susan Barnes (Donald Barnes) of Columbus, Georgia and James Mathis (Malinda Mathis) of Alabama; his grandchildren, Traci Jones, Kayla Durga, Todd Mathis, Billy Wayne Mathis, Scott Mathis, Lisa Dupree and Stephen Mathis; and his brother-in-law Wallace Kite (Dot Kite) of Panama City, Florida. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
