She was predeceased by: her parents, George Pierce and Bennie Lee Ford. She is survived by: her sons, Vernon and Willie Lee Carter; her grandchild Rickett Carter; her husband Joe Peterson; and her children, Rickett Carter (Cora), Tommie Carter (Mary), Carolyn James and Cathy Peterson-Williams (Carl). She is also survived by her husband, sons, daughters, grandchildren.
