She was predeceased by: her parents, Horace Smith and Johnnie Kinsley. She is survived by: her son Marcus Upshaw (Lori); her siblings, Hosea Smith (Esmeralda) and Lamour Johnson; and her close friends, Doris Echols, Davis Phillips and William Upshaw. She is also survived by four grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Sconiers Funeral Home (836 5th Ave, Columbus, GA 31901). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Tabur Baptist Church (2 Shepherd Ct, Columbus, GA 31906). A burial was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens (4500 St Marys Rd, Columbus, GA 31907).
