He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas and Leola Long McCalvin; his son Sammy McCalvin; and his siblings, John Roy McCalvin, Fannie Mae Evans, Eunice Williams, Myrtle Chandler, Irene Chandler and Lillian Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Sara Pickren McCalvin; his children, Liz Lovering and Tommy McCalvin; his grandchildren, Eric Lovering of Colquitt, GA and Anna Grace McCalvin of Statesville, NC.; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Givens of Donalsonville, GA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
