He was predeceased by: his parents, Wright Kirkland and Lucille Dowd Kirkland; his daughter Karin Bunch; and his siblings, Jake Kirkland and Jeanette Hollingsworth.
He is survived by: his close friend Jane Tanner Harris of Collins; and his children, Neal Bunch (Samantha) of Reidsville, Cory Kirkland of Collins and Brandi Kirkland of Lyons. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and one great grandson.
