He was predeceased by: his grandmother Okie Brazell; his brother Merle Brazell; and his parents, S. P. Alexander and Sadie Alexander. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Brazell of Reidsville; his children, Louie Brazell, Jr. (Ruthy) of Collins and Jennifer Brazell Malone of Reidsville; his grandchildren, Justin Brazell (Jessica), Jenna Dasher and Marlee Powell (Dalton); and his great grandchild Jaylee Kate Brazell.
