He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles McMurtry and Cynthia McMurtry; his wife Linda Cathcart; and his siblings, Jim, Charlie, Patrick, Donna and Ellen McMurtry.
He is survived by: his children, Paula Ricks of Collins, Sandra Cathcart of Collins, Shannon Benefield of Arkansas and Christie; and his siblings, Lucille McMurtry of California, Judy Clark of California, Christine Lewis of California, Marie McMurtry of California and Doug McMurtry (Ann) of Collins. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
