He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Townsend and Bertha Ramey Townsend; his wife Elnora Saxon Townsend; and his siblings, James Townsend, Ruth Townsend Simmons and Florence Townsend Warren.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Hembree (Jimmy), Chuck Townsend (Angie) and Bobby Jr. Townsend (Tracy); his grandchildren, Mike Hembree (Savannah), Rusty Hembree (Molly Stovall), Kevin Townsend (Aimee), Cody Townsend (Keri), Angeleigh Townsend and Russell Sloan; and his great grandchildren, Chaelyn Hembree, Amelia Hembree, Presley Hembree, Jordan Sloan, Geneieve Townsend and Nevakate Stovall.
