He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip Robert (Steelman) and Lola "Patterson" Steelman; his wife Mattie "Ruth" Steelman; and his siblings, Don Steelman, Monroe Steelman, Howard Steelman, Billy Steelman, Beulah Chastain, Christine Baisden and Bonnie Jackson.
He is survived by: his sons, Daniel Steelman and Samuel Steelman (Amy); his sisters, Virgie Howard and Juanita Peck; and his grandchildren, Danyelle Payne (Stacy), Jessica Cronan (Jeremy), Hagen Steelman (Myranda), Brady Steelman and Cody Stafford. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
