He was predeceased by: his parents, John G. Hardin and Charline Hardin. He is survived by: his wife Connie McMullen Hardin; his children, Christine Trageser (Jimmy) of Hixson, TN, Erica Phifer (David) of Chattanooga, Michael Hardin, Jr. (Laura) of Knoxville and Christopher Nabell; his sister Michele Crawford (Chuck) of Hixson; and his grandchildren, Mia Hardin, Nathan Trageser, Lola Hardin, Parker Nabell, Sterling Phifer and Nolan Phifer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grove Level Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
