She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur M. Bates and Laura Susan Jones Bates; her husband John W. Barrs, Jr. (Johnny); her daughter Miss Tina Marie Barrs; her daughter-in-law Shannon Frost Barrs; and her siblings, Leora Sands, Lavanda Jones, Delsa Taylor, Erma Jean Kroesser, Arvin Bates, Arlie Merle Bates, Rupert Bates and Patrick Bates.
She is survived by: her sons, Randy Barrs of Statesboro, GA, Ronnie Barrs (Judy) of Cary, GA and Richard Barrs (RuthAnn) of Cochran, GA; her grandchildren, Matthew Barrs, Daniel Barrs, Haley Hopkins (Andrew), Heidi Lyne (Bobby), Benjamin Moore (Ansley), Chessie Babcock (Brett), Katy Floyd (Nick), Richard Barrs (Katie), Ryan Barrs, Robert Barrs (Heather), Niki Oginz (Chad) and Jared Daniels (Karen); her great grandchildren, Seabie Cone, Harper Babcock, Aubree Moore, Blair Moore, Logan Barrs, Evan Barrs, Saylor Barrs, Sadie Barrs, Greyson Barrs, Adalynn Barrs, Ronan Barrs, Payton Oginz, Bella Oginz, Alivia Daniels, Riley Williams, Jamie Williams and Jared Daniels; her brothers, W. L. Bates (Joann), Lamont Bates (Betty) and John Layton Bates (Glenda); and her aunt Mary Jones Holmes of Macon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will be at 459 Lucas Rd., Cochran, however, due to Covid issues, discretion is advised.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be sent to either Cochran First Baptist Church, 101 South Second St., Cochran, GA 31014 or Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 134 Abney Road, Cochran, GA 31014.
