He was predeceased by: his father Sidney Hoke "Big Sid" Carter, Sr.; and his sister Barbara Ann "Bobbie Ann" Carter. He is survived by: his children, Ben Carter (Brandi) of Macon, Nick Carter (Jadia) of Enterprise, AL and Stephanie Carter of Jacksonville, FL; his grandchildren, Emma, Sam, Addi, Hoke and Maverick; his mother Mary Nell Massey Carter; and his friend Shirley Webb.
