He was predeceased by: his parent Monroe Crooms. He is survived by: his parent Eva Pritchett Crooms; his siblings, Buddy Crooms and Jewel C. Smith; his children, Lynn Hearn (Theron), Tony and Wendall Crooms (Kelly) of Virginia; his grandchildren, Ronald Hearn (Ciarra), LeAnn Hearn, Tiffany Diller (Jason), Andrew Laney, Melissa Laney and Matthew Laney; his sister Barbara C. Lyles of Cochran; and his significant other Grace Evans of Cochran. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
