He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny C. Howell and Mona Lee Fann Howell; his son Terry Howell; and his grandson Nicholas Dykes. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Dunn Howell of Cochran; his daughter Carminta Dykes (Trent) of Cochran; his grandchildren, Trey Dykes (Kayla) of Cochran, Kayla Speir of Cochran and Landon Dykes of Cochran; his great grandchildren, John Morgan Dykes of Cochran, Tucker Dykes of Cochran and Will Speir of Cochran; and his sisters, Carolyn Mathis (Harbot "Hardhead") of Dublin and Grace Adcock of Escondido, CA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
