He was predeceased by: his parents, O. W. "Bud" Purvis and Bessie Mae Yeomans Purvis; his daughter Leeann Purvis Murphy; and his sister Bessie Purvis Coley. He is survived by: his wife Jan Purvis of Roddy; his sons, Greg Purvis of Eastman, Jeff Purvis (Kathy) of Eastman and Jon Chester (Rebecca) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Renee Joines (James) of Lawrenceville, Joah Purvis (Brit) of Eastman, Macy Wambolt (Daryl) of Canada, Bailey Thomas of Rentz, Jase Chester (Jamie) of Eastman, Tasha McDaniel of Eastman and Cody Purvis of Warner Robins; his siblings, R. S. Purvis (Angie) of Alabaster, Alabama and Linda Warren (Bobby) of Eastman; and his sister-in-law Wanda Seabald (Merle) of Eatonton. He is also survived by his 14 great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mathis Funeral Home (151 E Dykes St, Cochran, GA 31014).
