He was predeceased by: his parents, James Daniel "J. D.", Sr. and Geneva Cadwell Hinson; and his stepson David O'Neal. He is survived by: his wife Jewell O'Neal Hinson of Cochran; his children, Tina Haupt (Rick) and Tim Hinson (Beth) of Cochran; and his stepchildren, Lynn Floyd (Gary) of Chester, Robin Floyd (Keith), Deniece Peacock (Kelly) of Cochran, Freida Hankins (Charlie) of Warner Robins and Carol O'Neal of Fayetteville. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
