James Austin Yearty Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Austin Yearty of Cochran, Georgia, who passed away on December 28, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Austin Yearty to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyndon Austin and Lois Reeves Yearty; his wife Judy Pope Yearty; his siblings, Ray Yearty and Martha Jo Churchwell; and his son-in-law Paul Maddox.
He is survived by: his children, James Earl Yearty (Sherry), Monica Meadows (Jimmy) and Joan "Sissy" Maddox; his stepsons, Mark Glover (Kerri) and Keith Glover; and his grandchildren, Craig Yearty, Jayme Simpson (Hunter), Eli Maddox (Logan), Logan Davis (Phillip), Brandon Glover, Chase Meadows (Emily), Logan Meadows and Hannah Mimbs (Vince). He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Mathis Funeral Home (151 E Dykes St, Cochran, GA 31014). A burial was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Bulloch Memorial Gardens (22002 US-80, Statesboro, GA 30459).
In lieu of flowers memorials may made to the Alzheimer's Association, American Heart Association or the donor's church or charity of choice.
