He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Davis and Eva Bates Davis; his wife Ellen Arnold Davis; his children, Deborah Davis Harper and Stephen Davis; and his grandson Joseph A. Davis.

He is survived by: his children, Richard Davis (Dee), Barbara Allen and Susan Kroesser of Cochran; and his sister Ernestine D. Egan (Vaughn) of Cochran. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
