He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Franklin, Sr. and Dollie Knighting Painter; and his sisters, Melonie and Melinda. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Painter; his children, Laura Ellis (B. J.) and Paul Painter (April); his stepchildren, Donna Pruett, Jason Pruett, Emily Macnamara, Rhonda Miller, Missy Miller, Kymberly Allen and David Allen; his siblings, Mark Painter (Whitney) and Lillie Brigham (George); and his sister-in-law Susan Collins (Danny).
