With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Avery of Cobbtown, Georgia, born in Live Oak, Florida, who passed away on February 22, 2021 at the age of 67. He was predeceased by : his parents, David J. Avery and Margaret Rhoden. He is survived by : his wife Mary Mitchell Avery; his children, Chris Avery of Gainesville, FL, Josh Avery (Deanna) of Salem, MO, Ashley Avery (Allen) of Pittsburgh, PA, Samantha Houle (Steven) of Brandon, FL, Mary Pfaffko (Max) of Washington, DC and Jim Mitchell (Sarahy) of Bogota, Columbia; sister Bernadette Cannon of Vidalia, Ga and David Avery of Cobbtown and his godsons, J. T., Collin and Todd Edgar of Cobbtown, GA.; and his nephews, James and Daryl. He is also survived by children have produced for their Oma and Opa an additional eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mayo Clinic and the Alzheimer's Foundation.
