She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Allen Dennis and Ethel Tracy; her husband Cleveland Brown; her children, Garfield Simpson of Rochester, Kenneth Simpson (Valrie) of Conyers, Althea Simpson of Ellenwood and Maxine Brown of Stockbridge, Georgia; her grandchildren, Yasmin Simpson of Rochester, Lareina Davis of Ellenwood, Brandon Simpson of Rochester, Cassandra Simpson of Burbank, Dominique Davis (Keri) of Belleville, Jamal Simpson of Conyers, Venessa Drake (Griffin) of Los Angeles and Larissa Davis; and her great grandchildren, Devon Davis, Jr. of Rochester, Deion Davis and Layla Davis of Belleville, Illinois. She was also cherished by other relatives and friends.

Cleveland joined her in 1971, where they would create a foundation to bring their four children to the United States.
