He was predeceased by: his father Andrew Calvin Hurst, Jr.; his son Jerrod Thrift; and his brothers, Freddy Hurst, Andrew Calvin Hurst, Jr. (Sonny), Charles Jackson Hurst (Jack), Gordon Arthur Hurst and Kenneth Edward Hurst (Kenny).
He is survived by: his wife Selena Hurst; his children, Barrett Thrift and Kelly Hurst Gilliard (Jesse Gilliard); his granddaughters, Kayla Mae, Serenity Cogburn, Elizabeth Cogburn and Olivia Gilliard; and his siblings, Harry P. Hurst and Joyce Elizabeth Hurst Smith (Henry). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and additional relatives and many friends.
