He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Winder and Virginia Lieb Winder; his former wife Judy Cato Winder; and his sister Patricia Sable. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Gooch Allen Winder; his son Danny; his daughter-in-law Veronica Winder of Boylston, MA; his daughter Melissa; his son-in-law Wade Mayton; his stepson Drew Allen of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Nathan Winder, Clayton Winder, Daniel Mayton, Penelope Allen and Evan Allen; and his sisters, Phyllis Gilbert and Peggy McMeans.
