He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hoyt Merck and Bertha Bell Merck; and his brother-in-law Dan Sanders. He is survived by: his wife Janie Merck; his brothers, Doug, Maudeen Merck, Richard and Beverly Merck; his niece Christie Crump; and his siblings-in-law, Carolyn Sanders, Joe, Theresa Sellers, Jim and Cinda Sellers. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
