He is survived by: his parents, David L Ayers and Trudy Garrett Ayers of Mt. Airy; his wife Kimberley Smith Ayers of Cleveland; his daughter Anna Ruby Ayers of Cleveland; his sister Kayla; his brother-in-law Jody Hubbard of Cornelia; his parents-in-law, Vickie Mitchum of Cleveland and Stanley Smith (Kelly) of Gainesville; and his brothers-in-law, Kevin Smith (Shelley), Robert Stanton Shubert (Molly Westmoreland) and Jesse Mitchum (MacKenzie). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the educational fund for Joey's daughter, Anna Ruby Ayers at Cleveland Branch of South State Bank, or a check may be made to Anna Ruby Ayers Fund and mailed to 2556 Parker Trail, Gainesville, GA 30506.
