He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Ward and Ella Dixon Ward; his son Larry Fred Ward; and his siblings, Frank Ward, Freeman Ward and Jewell Frazier.
He is survived by: his wife Nellie Ward; his children, Wanda McCollum (Don) of Cleveland, Kent Ward (Stacie) of Cleveland and Gary Ward (Renee) of Cleveland; his siblings, Phillip Ward of Morganton and Jeanette Grizzle (Wayne) of Duluth; his grandchildren, Adam McCollum, Dusty McCollum (Sarah), Jason Ward (Brelan), Justin Ward, Brandon Ward (Alex), Dylan Ward (Hannah Higgins), Sherrell Sisum and Deana Self; and his great grandchildren, Kelan McCollum, Kinley McCollum, Kendall McCollum, Jaycee McCollum, Bryce McCollum, Ava Ward, Zane Ward, Sawyer Ward, Bryson Self, Austin Self, Jocelyn Self and Maddison Self.
