She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Downing and Lillian Shepheard Lipscomb of Virginia; her daughters, Rebecca Thomas and Mary Cory; and her son-in-law Robert Owens.
She is survived by: her husband James Richard Hardman, Jr.; her daughters, Jean Owens and Ann (Joe Thacker); her sister Sue; her brother-in-law Jim Ducebella; her sons-in-law, Roger Thomas and Bobby Cory; her brother-in-law William Waters; and her grandchildren, Richard Howell, Sally Simmons, Brandy Floyd, Amanda Smith, Bridgett Henry, Jacob Moore, Nicholas Moore, Rebecca Galvis, Zachary Owens, Isaiah Thacker, Emmalea Thacker, Amy Cory, Isaac Owens and James Cory.
