He is survived by: his wife Judy Allen Smith; his children, Susan Adams and Travis; his daughter-in-law Kirsten Smith; his daughter Leslie; his son-in-law Mark Powell; his grandchildren, Taylor, McLeer, Hannah, Joseph Craft, Connor Smith, Katherine Smith, Addison Powell and Brooklyn Powell; and his siblings, Dorothy Spencer, Carlton (Sally Smith), Ellen Duncan and W. R. (Velma Smith).
