She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Skelton and Bernice Warwick Skelton. She is survived by: her husband James Waters; her children, Ed (Elaine McLean), Cleveland and Linda McLean; her grandchildren, Elena (Tom Lovieno), Gaines (Molly Harrison), Danielle (Justin Sosebee) and Felicia (Nathan Thomas); her brother Rev. Hugh; her sister-in-law Louise Skelton; and her sister Debbie Helton. She is also survived by several great-granchildren.
