He is survived by: his former spouse JanAnn Rose Shields; his wife Jan Rose Shields; his children, Jill Marie Shields Ottaway (Bill) of Flowery Branch, Georgia, Alan Lee Shields Jr. of Cleveland, Georgia and Benjamin Lee Shields of Cleveland, Georgia; his siblings, Bonnie Wolter (Greg), Brett Shields (Laurel) and Brian Shields (Debra); and his grandchildren, Brandon, Trenton, Dylan, Alexander Shields, Benjamin Jr., Tristan, Liam Shields, Bailey and Abbey Ottaway. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
