He is survived by: his wife Dora McDougald Murphy; his sons, Tim Murphy (Susan) and John Murphy; his grandchildren, Nicole Murphy (Al Metcalf), Lauren Murphy (Matt Fleming), Megan Aldridge (Jon) and Casey Jones; and his great grandchildren, Arden Chambers, Brooks Aldridge, Ruby Fleming and June Fleming.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Strickland and Sons Funeral Home (260 Main St, Clermont, GA 30527). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel (260 Main St, Clermont, GA 30527). A burial was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at the New Bridge Baptist Church (3120 Cleveland Hwy, Gainesville, GA 30506).
