He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Joel Deon Deaton; his wife Joyce Dillard Deaton; his siblings, Michael (Bernice Deaton), Lilburn and Janice Earwood; his grandsons, Ian Woods of Hiawassee and Isiah Woods of Hiawassee; and his stepdaughter Lynn Mincey Avila. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
