He is survived by: his wife Linda Turner of Clermont; his daughters, Linné Merck (Phillip) of Clermont and Rebekah Marsh (Brian) of Glendale, AZ; his grandchildren, Gracelyn Merck of Clermont, Katherine Merck of Gillsville and William Merck of Gillsville; and his siblings, Linda Jordan (Bobby) of Mt. Mourne, NC, Joyce Ivey (Tyrone) of Kannapolis, NC, Roy Turner (Terri) of Davidson, NC and Bobby Turner (Judy) of Mooresville, NC.
