He was predeceased by: his parents, R. L. "Billy" Long and Annie Norton Long; and his sister Kathy Blalock. He is survived by: his wife Dede Good Long; his sons, Kevin Long (Jordan) and Jonny Long (Makinzy) of Tiger, Georgia; his brothers, Neal Long (Doris) of Anderson and Dean Long (Joyce) of Alpharetta, Georgia; his brother-in-law Jim Blalock of Wiley, Georgia; his sisters, Gayle Hopper (Elmer) of Braselton, Georgia and Lorette Inman (Paul) of Otto; his grandchildren, Laban Long, Edmund Long, Mila Kate Long and Maggie Long; and his close friends, Moon Smith and Sadie Owens.
