He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmy Lou Crandall Holt and Jack Nelson Holt of Oak Ridge; his son Scott Crandall Holt; his siblings, Philip Nelson Holt and Suzanne Lindholm; and his stepmother Grace Bainbridge Holt.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Dodson Holt; his son Samuel Holt; his granddaughter Grace Holt; and his stepsisters, Lysbeth Bainbridge (Steve Ramberg) and Sarah Bainbridge Akridge (Chip). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
