He was predeceased by: his parents, Benners Brassfield Vail Jr. and Charlotte Elizabeth Mimms Vail. He is survived by: his wife Linda Taylor Vail; his stepchildren, Darrell Jones of Clayton and Alana Dickerson (Clay) of Clayton; his grandchildren, Caylin Dickerson and Caden Dickerson; his siblings, Benners B Vail III, James M. Vail, John M. Vail, Patricia L Vail Peavy, Elizabeth Ellen Vail and Mary Vail Floyd; his half-siblings, Robert Vail, Jeff Vail and Dody Vail Sparks; and his stepsisters, Susan Stanford and Peggy Dring Stwart. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
