He was predeceased by: his parents, Louise Young (Grant) and James Robert Young; his brother James Robert Young, Jr.; his brother-in-law Bobby Glenn Anderson; and his nephew Bobby Glenn Anderson, Jr..

He is survived by: his son Alex (Linda); his sister Sara Ellen Anderson; and also Tatum.
