He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Nelms and Reba Garrison Nelms. He is survived by: his children, Larry Nelms (Joan) and Holly Winter (Marvin); his siblings-in-law, Harry Reid of Richmond, Vriginia and Sue Bennett of Valdosta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Laura Nelms, Lindsey Anderson (Cody) and Merritt Winter of Atlanta, Georgia; and his great grandchild Kason Anderson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
