It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clarice Nichols (Clayton, Georgia), who passed away on May 20, 2020, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Clarice Nichols to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Edgar Johnson and Ollie Laverne Davis Johnson; and her sister Judy Johnson. She is survived by: her husband Jud Nichols of Clayton; her children, Logan Nichols (Emily) of Canton, GA and Christy Smith of Clayton; her siblings, Daniel Johnson of Clayton, Buster Johnson of Clayton, Denis Johnson of Alabama, Wade Johnson, Doug Johnson, Janet Rutledge of Walnut Grove and Angie White of Gainesville, GA; and her grandchildren, Rowan Nichols and Hailey Smith. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Clarice's memory to the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation 3395 NE Expressway, Suite 100 Atlanta, GA 30341 and St Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

“In loving memory of Clarice Nichols, With deepest sympathies. I have so many wonderful memories of days spent in the campground. We started coming there, I think, in the 1980's. We even stored our 30 ft camper at the campground. We parked across from the restrooms. Michael, my husband, passed away in Feb 2015. I am now 81 yrs young and live alone in Woodstock, GA. My mind is not as good as it used to be, but Judd, you and Clarice will always hold a special place in my heart.”

“My dearest family. My heart is heavy with the sudden and tragic loss of our matriarch. Though i am not blood kin, i feel as though i am after having spent 28 years worth of summers in the campground. Aunt clarice was/is loved dearly and will forever reside within our hearts. The coming days will be extremely difficult for us all, but, especially for the immediate family that she has left behind. Know that i love you, i always will love you, and mama and i are just a phone call away. God bless”
